The Past Few Weeks

The first couple nights at home with Joe were pretty rough. We found out very quickly that Joe has reflux since Jack did (he was acting very similar). Thank goodness my mom was here for the first week to help out, especially with Jack in the morning. The nights are getting better and better for us sleep wise. Joe is starting to get his nights and days on track. Carla is recovering great. She was up and around after just a couple days. She's ready to get back into the gym, but I don't think she needs to rush.
Everyone has been wondering what was Jack's reaction to Joe being home. Well, I have to say that so far he has been great. Jack obviously wanted some attention when he first met Joe in the hospital, acting a little crazy, but in a funny way. We believe that Jack will be a very sweet big brother. He has already given him his paci when Joe was crying (without asking) and he continues to just look at him and touch his feet like he is fascinated with the little guy.

I was very glad to have the past couple weeks off of work to help out. It's going to be quite a change getting back to work. Everyone thinks I'll be glad to get back, but nahh. I really enjoyed spending time with my family. Jack and I hung out together the whole time and I really am going to miss that. I'm very confident that Carla will go just fine with the 2 guys. It may start out rough, but she'll get a routine down and will be able to please both.

A large amount of my family decided to come down and meet up this Mother's Day weekend, not knowing that it would be only 2 weeks from Joe's birth. Both my mom and dad are staying back to back weekends here in the DFW area because of that. Jack and Joe's other visitors over the weekend were: Uncle Bryan and Aunt Jenny from Indiana, Uncle Will up from Wimberly (TX), Auntie Manta from Indy and her bf David. The whole gang stayed close to my sister's house in North Dallas because they didn't want to cause too much of a rukus over here with the new baby (next time they better stay over in good old Tarrant County-where it's really happenin'). Jack and I met up with my family for an early Mother's Day brunch and then headed over to Carla's folks' house where we met up with Carla and Joe for a quick lunch. It was quite a weekend and we are not looking forward to this next week. It'll be quite a change since I am going back to work and my family will be returning back to their homes. Below are pictures of Jack and Joe with their Boppo and Great Momma & Jack and Joe on Mother's Day with their nifty new outfits from Auntie Manta.
