Big Joe!

Brent took this today of Joe while he was watching him. He worked from home today to help me and of course Joe slept pretty much ALL day for him. Never happens w/me! Joe is getting really big and starting to fill out. His 2 month checkup was this past Thursday and he weighed
12 lbs 1 oz and was 24 1/2 inches long. He was in the 75th percentile for weight and 97th percentile for height (or length). :) He smiles, coos and "talks" like crazy and he is starting to discover his hands and swat and grab for things. He is the cutest thing ever! We're not biased of course.

Brotherly Love

The picture below is actually a couple of weeks old but I forgot to post it and I can't leave it out because it's so cute! Jack still pretty much ignores Joe but on occasion does something really sweet. A few days ago I put Joe in his swing and Jack reached over for Joe's bottle and put it in the swing with him. And every time we put Joe in Jack's lap or right next to him, Jack just gets real still and acts all shy. It's so cute because he's actually very careful with Joe. Joe was diagnosed with Torticollis (also known as "wry neck") last week. It is a twisting of the neck caused from either being in utero in a twisted neck position, from the birthing process or sometimes and infection. Joe's could have been from his position in utero as well as the birthing process since the cord was around his neck and then he was pulled out very fast and kind of roughly during my emergency c-section. Treatment for torticollis is physical therapy. He started last week and will be going twice a week probably for a couple of months. He's already showing some improvement and seems more relaxed in general. We hope it clears up real soon because he does seem to be uncomfortable. Prayers for Joe!

Father's Day

We had a wondeful Father's Day! The day started off with breakfast, cards and a new swim suit for Daddy from Jack and Joe. Mommy got Daddy new shorts and a couple of new shirts. We went to church and brought Grandpa Robertson with us which was a special treat. Then we went to lunch in Ft. Worth at La Playa Maya with Grandpa, Grammy, Grandpap, Brandon, Omar, Ginger and her new fiance Mike. We had planned on going out to Grammy and Grandpap's new land in Whitt to fish in their pond but it was pouring rain all weekend. Another time. We had a very nice lunch and the food is ALWAYS yummy there. Joe slept the whole time and Jack was a very good boy staying nicely in his booster and eating all kinds of things previously restricted on his gluten free diet (we had to stop so some tests he's having will be accurate). He particularly liked the praline for dessert. After lunch we drove by Grandpap's new apartment development in Ft. Worth. Brandon has worked hard on the aesthetics of the apartments. Picking out everything from the bricks, stone and paint color to detailing on the balcony rails to name a few of the details of his job with Vaughan's company. I know I'm not describing his job very well or listing anywhere near the amount of things he does. Brandon works so hard and does such a good job! Good thing he's a stickler for detail. :) We had such a nice day and it was awesome getting to spend some quality time with the ones we love. We missed Boppo today though! He and Great Momma are in Chicago for cousin Johnny's graduation from Business School. Congrats Johnny! Also, Happy Father's Day to Grandaddy in Florida - we love and miss you! Growin' Up

Jack is 2 1/2, going to summer school 2 times a week, still going to therapy (speech, OT and now ABA in our home), cutting his two year molars, and best of all, sleeping in his "big boy" bunk bed over a week now! He has been so good about staying in his bed all night. We were so afraid he would roam the house at night while we were asleep or be afraid in the new room and new bed. He has stayed in there no problem since day one. However, one night I heard something, I went to check on him and found him in his closet looking at photographs I had stored in there. Another time I found him on his rocking bicycle (in the dark). We are very proud of him. He's still not really talking but we continue to pray and have high hopes for our precious boy.
My three boys all dressed up for church. This was Joe's first trip to church. He went to Sunday School with Mommy and Daddy because we're not ready to put him in the nursery yet. He was a very good boy. Jack moved up to the toddler classroom. He still cries when we drop him off but stops and settles down right after we are out of sight. All his teachers love him because he is so "cuddly".
Joe is officially "Super Baby"! He is so strong - he's been holding his head up really well almost since birth but now holds it up like he's 3 months old. He cranes his neck and turns his head all around to see what's going on. He smiles and coos like mad. His favorite people to look at seem to be Jack and Grammy (he likes Grammy's wig). He watches Jack like a hawk even though Jack pretty much ignores him. I catch Jack glancing at Joe but he tries real hard not to let us know he's interested. The most amazing thing is that Joe has already rolled over. I was shocked when last week while laying on his floor mat, I turned away for a second only to turn back and see Joe laying on his back when he had been on tummy. He was 6 weeks old when this happened! He has tried like crazy to do this again but so far has not replicated his bionic strength and agility. It's pretty cool to watch him try though - he gets his hips swinging instead of the normal route baby's try (pushing up on arms and tucking one arm under to roll). The following pictures are of me taking a million photos of the rollover attempts. He allllllllmost did it again - so close!
Here are some of the many smiles and adoring gazes we see from sweet Joe. He is a happy, sweet and affectionate baby with a wonderful personality.
Stay tuned, I'm sure by next week Joe will be walking. :)

Beautiful Jack

These awesome pictures of Jack were taken by his Uncle Greg. Greg, Sarah and their new son Nate came to visit all of Nate's cousins here in Texas all the way from Portland, OR. They stayed with Jenny, Neal, Molly, Hudson, and Hogan in Dallas. It was SO wonderful seeing them and getting to meet Nate. Nate was born late December '06 and we had yet to meet him. Nate is a big bundle of cuteness - sorry we don't have any picts of him since Uncle Greg was the only one taking pictures. Jack really took to his Uncle Greg which is rare since he usually warms up to the females in the room. :) Thanks for these priceless photos Greg!!!!
