Growin' Up

Jack is 2 1/2, going to summer school 2 times a week, still going to therapy (speech, OT and now ABA in our home), cutting his two year molars, and best of all, sleeping in his "big boy" bunk bed over a week now! He has been so good about staying in his bed all night. We were so afraid he would roam the house at night while we were asleep or be afraid in the new room and new bed. He has stayed in there no problem since day one. However, one night I heard something, I went to check on him and found him in his closet looking at photographs I had stored in there. Another time I found him on his rocking bicycle (in the dark). We are very proud of him. He's still not really talking but we continue to pray and have high hopes for our precious boy.
My three boys all dressed up for church. This was Joe's first trip to church. He went to Sunday School with Mommy and Daddy because we're not ready to put him in the nursery yet. He was a very good boy. Jack moved up to the toddler classroom. He still cries when we drop him off but stops and settles down right after we are out of sight. All his teachers love him because he is so "cuddly".
Joe is officially "Super Baby"! He is so strong - he's been holding his head up really well almost since birth but now holds it up like he's 3 months old. He cranes his neck and turns his head all around to see what's going on. He smiles and coos like mad. His favorite people to look at seem to be Jack and Grammy (he likes Grammy's wig). He watches Jack like a hawk even though Jack pretty much ignores him. I catch Jack glancing at Joe but he tries real hard not to let us know he's interested. The most amazing thing is that Joe has already rolled over. I was shocked when last week while laying on his floor mat, I turned away for a second only to turn back and see Joe laying on his back when he had been on tummy. He was 6 weeks old when this happened! He has tried like crazy to do this again but so far has not replicated his bionic strength and agility. It's pretty cool to watch him try though - he gets his hips swinging instead of the normal route baby's try (pushing up on arms and tucking one arm under to roll). The following pictures are of me taking a million photos of the rollover attempts. He allllllllmost did it again - so close!
Here are some of the many smiles and adoring gazes we see from sweet Joe. He is a happy, sweet and affectionate baby with a wonderful personality.
Stay tuned, I'm sure by next week Joe will be walking. :)
